Open Question: I have a breeder net now?

17 November 2008, 12:41 pm

I bought a breeder net today after trying out the two way breeder. After I bought it I realized that there is no compartment in the bottom like in the 2 way breeder. So how do I keep the mother from eating her fry? And how many females can I put in the breeder, its a small one, and I am just wondering if more than one is a bad idea, I have about three Guppies that are seriously preggo. I also have set up another tank for the fry to develop in, a ten gal as opposed to the 29 gal. I am just wondering if it is safe to take a couple of the females away from the male's without a massacre. Also, is there a way to stop aggression in Mollies toward Guppies. A pet store person said that we could put Mollies in with guppies, and one (the smaller one) does alright with them, but the bigger molly is very teritorial, especially about food. I have her in the two way breeder because she was starting to nip at the guppies fins, and beat up the smaller guppy, whom I am assuming is the male? I don't know a thing abou mollies except that I'm not sure they are very compatible with smaller fish like guppies. I know I rambled, I'm sorry. Anyway, I think I have asked everything I needed to know, for now, lol. Thanks in advance! Alright, I do have plenty of places for the females to hide and such. But, if the breeder net is for the fry only, how do I get them in there? I'm soooo confused!... Read More »
